Xinyi Wei wins Hydrogen Europe Research Young Scientist Award

— Xinyi Wei, a researcher in the School of Engineering's Group of Energy Materials, has been awarded the Young Scientist Award 2025 in the ‘Best researcher of the year’ category by Hydrogen Europe Research.

Microcity Building celebrates 50 years of microengineering

— On September 4th, EPFL’s Neuchñtel campus celebrated the 50th anniversary of microengineering at the school with a milestone event uniting 450 alumni, engineers, and representatives from politics and industry.

— The European Research Council (ERC) has selected 478 early-career researchers across Europe to receive this year’s Starting Grants, including EPFL School of Engineering professors Nako Nakatsuka and Zhengmao Lu.

Zhengmao Lu receives Outstanding Early Career Award at MicroFIP 2025

— Zhengmao Lu, head of the Energy Transport Advances Laboratory in the School of Engineering, has received the Outstanding Early Career Award at the 2025 Micro Flow and Interfacial Phenomena Conference (MicroFIP) for his work on interfacial thermal phenomena.

Luc Thévenaz wins OFS Lifetime Achievement Award

— EPFL School of Engineering Professor Emeritus Luc ThĂ©venaz was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award of the 29th International Conference on Optical Fiber Sensors (OFS29) last week in Portugal. PhD student Yuting Yang also received an award for Best Student Paper.
